About Robin

My name is Robin McIndoo, and I have lived, worked, and created in north Orange County my entire life. Over the years, I have studied under many talented artists, learning many mediums in both private classes and at CSU Fullerton.

My earliest and most influential art mentor was the original Ponderosa artist, my father, C.A. Porter. I grew up surrounded by my Dad’s incredible creative energy and multi-media talent. I have embraced his passion of being a lifelong artist and learner. I’ve never met a medium I didn’t like. Some of the mediums I work in are: journal building, drawing, painting, stained glass, mosaic, fused glass, sculpture, 3-dimensional design, metalworking, bead mosaic, watercolor, acrylic and oil painting, picassiette, linocut printing, polymer clay, ceramics, casting, and cartooning. My current favorites are visual journaling and anything to do with glass- mosaic, stained glass, fusing.

I have had years of experience teaching the arts to children, teens, and adults. I spent twenty years teaching the Fine Arts Magnet class in the Fullerton School District, and have taught many classes for adults in my own studio.
Like many people, I have experienced challenges in my adult life- having a disabled child, domestic abuse, divorce, physical problems. My recovery from these challenges has been through ART- particularly visual journaling.

Art has proven to a calming, centering, healing activity for me- a journey of discovery and inner peace. I hope that learning to embrace your creative self, that it will be this for you, as well. All levels of experience are welcome in my classes. I will help you to shed that little ogre that tells you you can’t do it, and to instead embrace your creative self. Welcome to your journey of creativity!
